Cassis, Marseille

Between Toulon and Marseille, at the foot of Cap Canaille, the highest sea cliff in Europe, this pretty seaside resort has a crazy charm and immediately seduces! A picturesque port, an exceptional natural environment a stone's throw from the creeks, Cassis is a concentrate of Provence and the Mediterranean!

What makes this village special?

It is good to stroll through the narrow streets, linger in the squares to admire the colorful fishermen's houses and on the port straight out of a novel by Marcel Pagnol. We stop on the quays, bordered by terraces of cafes and welcoming restaurants, and we indulge in the sweetness of Provence. Like any self-respecting town in the Midi, Cassis has several picturesque and fragrant markets: the Wednesday and Friday market, the fish market every morning and the farmer's market on Saturday.

A stone's throw from the port, history buffs should not miss a visit to the Mediterranean Municipal Museum of Popular Arts and Traditions, installed in a former 18th century presbytery, or that of the Four banal. But Cassis is above all renowned for being in the magnificent Calanques National Park, a unique site in the world that will delight lovers of nature and the sea! There is no shortage of activities: underwater, thanks to diving and swimming, on the water, thanks to the boat trips offered in the port, the canoe or paddle, on the hiking trails, to enjoy, in any case, an exceptional flora and fauna! It is the only national park that is both terrestrial, marine and peri-urban.
