Roussillon, Luberon

Located in the Luberon Regional Natural Park at the foot of the Monts de Vaucluse, the village of Roussillon is one of the most impressive villages in France. It is located in one of the largest ocher deposits in the world and famous for its quarries, it is called the "little Colarado".

What makes this Village special

Its red, yellow and orange earth, in contrast with the lush green vegetation and the blue sky makes this place magical and is a pleasure for the eyes. They make paint from the ochres and you can visit the Conservatory of Ochres and Pigments and walk in the hills (wear dark shoes as the pigments can stain). The facades of the houses are painted with ochres and illustrate the result you get with these paintings. Of course, many artists have been drawn here and you will find many workshops and galleys.
