The 5,000m² estate runs along the Aurélia road, the historic Roman road on the north face of The Alpilles. Upon entering the property through its large gate, its authenticity is immediately apparent through the hundred-year-old oaks, pines and hackberry trees. As you stroll through the grounds, you will discover many secret spots where aromatic herbs grow, Provençal plants flower or where artwork is skillfully distributed. The old fish pond blooms with lotuses and, by the heated swimming pool, you will find the pétanque/boules court... what Provençal garden would be complete without one?

Immediately upon entering the 650m2 farmhouse, the colours and design of the interior effortlessly convince you that this is an artist's home. Spacious and bright, each of the six bedrooms of the farmhouse are predominated by one colour. The large beds are adorned with silky linen and the bathrooms are imbued with the iconic Eau d'Orange Verte from the house of Hermès.

The 50m2 living room, which features an open fireplace, sofas, wine cellar, cigars and a Bose speaker, elegantly opens onto the terrace. Nearby, you will find the 80m2 living room boasting a bar cart, table and chairs, games table, library lounge and large bay windows facing The Alpilles. With a projector, huge screen and Bose speakers, this room is perfect for cosying up to watch a film with your loved ones. The 16m2 troglodyte dining room, with its wine cellar carved into the rock, will never fail to impress. Soon after, you will see the 36m2 professional kitchen, fitted with everything a person could need to cook up authentic French cuisine! This property also boasts 2 offices (one on the ground floor and the other on the first) equipped with high quality professional equipment. 

The well-being lounge, an integral part of the farmhouse, can be accessed from the garden. At the top of the dovecote's old stone staircase, well hidden from view, is the secret massage parlour which invites absolute serenity (complete with massage table, hot stones and pouches, treatment accessories and Bose speakers).

The 66m2 Sheepfold is independent from the large farmhouse, becoming the ideal annexe to accommodate staff or those who desire more privacy. This space offers a comfortable living room with open-plan well equipped kitchen, 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom with heated towel rack, hair dryer, shower, basin and toilet on the ground floor. The technical area, with independent access, can be found on the garden level and contains a laundry room (2 washing machines, 2 dryers, 1 drying rack) and store room (cold room and freezer).

A wonderful experience

If you are looking for a reasonably priced chateau near a beautiful French town, look no more. The home has been refurbished from a restaurant (they left the chefs kitchen) and has everything you will need. The host is easily accessible but not intrusive, and Provence Holidays did a wonderful job with all the bookings and additional activities. So much to do here, I highly recommend this place.

Mas de l'Artiste is equipped with bed linen, bathrobes, towels and Végétalement Provence welcome products.

The swimming pool is maintained every week and is heated from May 1st to September 30th.
From May to September, we work every day morning and evening to set up the swimming pool and tidy it up in the evening.
Concierge service and technical support of the house.

Housework included:
Low season and Christmas: 2 people for 4 hours, once a week with change of sheets and towels.
Middle and High Season: 2 people for 4 hours, twice a week with change of sheets and towels (once a week).
Depending on the needs, we can intervene more often, this service will be charged €280 (2 people for 4 hours).
