Set on the edge of the beautiful Vaucluse plateau and close to the prestigious Côte du Rhône wine villages, this lively Provençal village between the Mont Ventoux and the Luberon Valley is a paradise for cyclists and wine-lovers. Pernes-les-Fontaines has preserved the traditional character of a Medieval fortified town with remnants of stone ramparts, cobbled streets and shady squares. The surrounding landscape of vineyards, cherry orchards, olive groves and forest to the south of the village provides wonderful walking, jogging and cycling opportunities minutes from your doorstep.

There is an amazing Daily market in the village’s wood-beamed old station depot, offering high-quality regional products every day in an atmospheric setting. Alongside the fishmonger, butchers and deli counter, specialist stalls offer a wide range of fresh fruit and veg along with cheeses, olives, honey, wines, olive oil, organic local eggs, and more. A small bistro/wine bar serves meals and apéritifs.

Weekly Provençal Market – Saturday mornings only:
Typical southern French street market under the plane trees along the river Nesque and in the square in front of the Tourist Office. All the year, every Saturday morning, traders and craftsmen gather at the Quai de Verdun for the market of Pernes-les-Fontaines. This market of Provence is both in an area of freedom, a place of encounters and exchanges, where everyone takes his time, touches and appreciates the products of the stalls.
