Owned by the Crocé-Spinelli family for four generations, Château Saint-Esprit lies between the Mediterranean and the hills of the Haut-Var. The estate is based on family know-how handed down over the years, combined with a terroir ideally suited to viticulture.
Wine production is based on sound agricultural practices and constant attention to grape quality. Each cuvée reflects the characteristics of the estate and its environment.
The estate also offers bed and breakfast accommodation within the mas, as well as spaces dedicated to private events, including weddings. This combination allows you to discover the area through its wine, accommodation and on-site activities.
Château Saint-Esprit is located on a site occupied since ancient times, at the crossroads of two major wine trade routes: the Via Aurelia, linking Italy to Spain, and the Via Julia Augusta, which served the interior. This strategic position encouraged the establishment of winegrowing villas as early as Roman times, testifying to the age of Provencal vineyards.
Today, the estate is built on a terroir characteristic of the region. The soils, composed of red clay rich in ferruginous elements and stony limestone, have a direct influence on the structure and balance of the wines. The clay adds substance and texture, while the limestone contributes finesse and complexity.
Situated at an altitude of around three hundred meters, the vineyard benefits from several exposures and a microclimate combining Mediterranean and continental influences. Differences in temperature between day and night encourage gradual ripening of the grapes.
The vines are cultivated with particular attention to the soil, without the use of pesticides or herbicides. This approach aims to preserve the identity of the terroir and express its characteristics in each cuvée.
