Fréjus, Cote d'Azur/French Riviera

Halfway between Cannes and Saint-Tropez, at the foot of the first foothills of the Estérel massif, Fréjus is a city of art and culture endowed with a rich historical and architectural heritage and whose new districts extend to the sea. The activities are numerous and varied…

What makes this village special?

During the Roman era, Fréjus was one of the most important ports in the Mediterranean. Ancient history lovers will be delighted! During a walk in town, they will discover a multitude of vestiges and monuments among which one of the largest amphitheaters in Gaul, which programs concerts and events during the summer season, the Roman theater, the Golden Gate, from the 3rd century , the lantern of Augustus, construction which signaled the entry of the port, the door of the Gauls or the aqueduct which brought the waters of the Siagnole, of Mons. The episcopal group, with the Saint-Léonce cathedral, the baptistery and the cloister, is worth the detour.

The city also has a Buddhist pagoda, only accessible to practitioners but whose gardens are open to the public, and the Malian-style Missiri mosque, two places where the change of scenery is total! Fréjus is also a Provençal seaside resort as we like them: with its markets on Wednesday and Saturday mornings in the historic heart and on Sunday mornings at Fréjus Plage, and, of course, its summer night market, its many festivals and events!

When you come to Fréjus, you will enjoy its beaches, all of which are magnificent, its nautical activities and its routes and hikes by the sea or in the Estérel massif, on foot or by bike. For a cultural and sporting stay!
