Cannes, Cote d'Azur / French Riviera

26 kilometers from Nice, Cannes is famous the world over for its film festival. But it is also a lively and warm place of life which has preserved traces of its past. This former fishing village with an extraordinary destiny, is today a multi-faceted place, where life is good.

What makes this city special?

The visit to Cannes begins with Le Suquet. Lovers of old stones will delightfully discover the Provençal and authentic charm of the oldest district of Cannes, a former fishing village, in the heart of the old town, with its narrow streets and medieval flower-bedecked houses. Hoisted on a hill overlooking the sea, it offers an ideal point of view to admire the bay. Do not miss the famous Forville market, the “belly of Cannes”, every morning except Monday, where all Provencal specialties are sold. A real pleasure for the eyes and the taste buds! On the way down, stop at the old port where pleasure boats, yachts and colorful boats come together. You can admire the pretty pastel facades of the Quai Saint-Pierre. From the bottom of the harbor, you can see two islands: Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat, accessible by boat in 20 minutes from the ferry terminal. Back on the continent, it is good to stroll on one of the most famous walks in the world, the Croisette, which runs along the bay of Cannes for 3 kilometers. Bordered by palm trees and pines, it is the chic and elegant place and the crossing point between the beach and the city. It is on this mythical avenue that you will find the Palais de Festivals, where every year, in May, the movie stars walk the red carpet, dreaming of leaving with a prize!
