Set on the hills of the Vaucluse, the Golf de Saumane offers an eighteen-hole course with open views across the Luberon and the Alpilles. The site includes a pro shop and a practice area, providing facilities for both play and training.
A course shaped by the landscape
Designed in nineteen eighty-nine by Jean Garaïalde, the layout follows the natural contours of the terrain, with inspiration drawn from the Canal de Carpentras and the surrounding rocky slopes.
The course extends over six thousand one hundred and ninety-one metres from the back tees and features thirty-eight strategically placed bunkers, requiring careful shot selection throughout the round.
A Provençal setting
The vegetation reflects the region, with pine trees, olive groves and Mediterranean plants such as lavender and rosemary lining the course.
Facilities and location
The clubhouse includes a bar, restaurant and panoramic terraces overlooking the course, suitable for both individual visits and organised events.
Located close to L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, around three kilometres away, the golf also provides access to nearby villages within the Vaucluse.
RESTAURANT AND TERRACE AT GOLF DE SAUMANE
Open to both golfers and visitors, the restaurant and bar at Golf de Saumane are set on the hills of the Vaucluse, close to L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue and Fontaine-de-Vaucluse. The terrace offers clear views across the Luberon, the Alpilles and the course.
SEASONAL, LOCALLY SOURCED CUISINE
Chef Jean-Michel Alazard and his team focus on fresh, quality ingredients, often sourced from the surrounding region. The lunch offering includes a daily golfer’s menu that changes regularly, while the dinner menu follows the seasonality of available produce.
The space is suited to a range of occasions, from a short break for a drink to a longer meal overlooking the landscape.
OPENING HOURS
The bar and terrace are open daily from eight in the morning for coffee and drinks.
The restaurant serves lunch every day from eleven thirty until fifteen thirty.
