What makes this village special?
Do you dream of seeing lavender as far as the eye can see and knowing everything about this emblematic plant of Provence which flowers in July? Sault is the place to stop. You can take unforgettable walks there: the Chemin des Lavandes is one of the routes on offer. For 5 kilometres, starting from the Vallon distillery, this path has information panels and allows you to make a loop through fields and around the village. In the old village, a sign-posted route entitled One hour in the footsteps of the wolf will allow you to discover the history and the most interesting monuments, including three of the towers of the old medieval castle and the church of Notre-Dame-de-la -Tower, built in the 12th century and remodeled in the 14th century, it is classified as a historic monument. The main nave has three bays and is covered with a barrel vault.
A Provencal market takes place every Wednesday. During the summer period, the village schedules many events, festivals, parties and garage sales, the highlight of which is the Lavender Festival on August 15th. On the program: lavender cutting contest with a sickle, folk groups and a parade of flower-drawn carriages.
You will therefore be given many opportunities to taste the specialties of Sault: nougats, charcuterie from Ventoux pork, spelled, lamb, chickpeas, lentils, goat's cheese with aromatic plants and unbeatable lavender honey!
