Domaine de Lagoy
The Alpilles > Saint-Rémy-de-Provence
Located in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, this historic estate has been in the same family since the 17th century, with a listed château dating from the early 18th century at its center.
The vineyard, located on the Petite Crau plateau, rests on alluvial soils rich in pebbles, favoring the accumulation of heat and regular ripening of the grapes.
Organically farmed since 2001, the estate also benefits from an unspoilt environment, conducive to quality production.
The choice of organic farming was made in a demanding context, despite lower yields and more restrictive tillage, notably due to the presence of numerous pebbles. However, the pebbles play a beneficial role in releasing the heat accumulated during the day, helping to ripen the grapes. The mistral wind, frequent on the Petite Crau plateau, also helps limit humidity-related diseases.
From 2013 onwards, the estate entered a new phase with the arrival of a renewed team, marked by a relaunch of wine production and marketing, as well as a modernization of the image.
Vinification has been reintroduced to the estate, with a focus on tools adapted to current methods. The old facilities have been redesigned, with certain parts of the building now dedicated to reception and tasting.
