Golf de Valescure
Côte d'Azur / French Riviera > Saint-Raphaël
Created in eighteen ninety-five by British aristocrats, the Golf de Valescure is the oldest course in the Var and among the earliest established in France. Set within a landscape of umbrella pines, it reflects the traditional character of early golf course design.
A strategic and technical layout
Designed by Harry Shapland Colt, the course measures five thousand and nineteen metres with a par of sixty-eight. While several holes are relatively short, the layout requires careful course management.
Narrow fairways, dense rough, water hazards and small greens demand precision over distance. Club selection becomes a key factor, with a focus on accuracy rather than power.
The course offers a thoughtful round where each shot requires consideration.
