Domaine du Clos d'Alari
French Riviera - Countryside > Saint-Antonin-du-Var
Clos d'Alari is a thirty-hectare agricultural estate located in Saint-Antonin-du-Var, near Lorgues. It is distinguished by its diversified production, symbolized by three main crops: vines, oak and olives.
Run by a mother-daughter duo, the estate has been producing white, red and rosé AOP Côtes de Provence wines since 1998. It also offers vintage olive oil and fresh truffles in season.
The vineyard is farmed organically, with particular attention paid to crop balance and product quality.
Since 2013, the estate has welcomed visitors in a bastide converted into a guest house, offering an experience centered on staying at the property and discovering the surrounding setting.
The estate welcomes visitors all year round for free tastings, without reservation. However, it is advisable to call ahead to make sure the team is available.
For those who wish to explore the estate in greater depth, a full tour is available. Lasting between an hour and a half and two hours, it explains the different stages in the production of white, rosé and red wines.
The tour takes place in three stages. It begins with a presentation of the estate, its position within the Côtes de Provence appellation and notions of terroir. This is followed by a walk through the vineyard plots, with explanations of the grape varieties, the climate and how the vines work through the seasons. Finally, a tour of the winery explains the winemaking process and the technical choices made.
The estate favors a natural approach, with organic viticulture and, since the 2022 harvest, production exclusively oriented towards natural wines.
The tour concludes with a tasting of the different cuvées, in a shaded outdoor area.
