Golf de Roquebrune

Golf de Roquebrune

Located between Cannes and Saint-Tropez, in the Var, the Golf de Roquebrune offers an eighteen-hole course set between the Bay of Fréjus–Saint-Raphaël and the Massif des Maures.

A technical course with varied views

The layout is defined by narrow, winding fairways that require precision throughout the round. Changes in elevation and the natural terrain shape a course that challenges course management as much as shot execution.

Views alternate between the coastline and inland hills, providing a clear sense of the surrounding landscape as you progress through the course.

A year-round golf destination

Part of a five-star resort, the golf is open throughout the year and combines its course with accommodation and on-site facilities.

The setting and design place it among the recognised courses of the Côte d’Azur, offering a structured and technical round within a distinct environment.

THE HISTORY OF GOLF DE ROQUEBRUNE

The Golf de Roquebrune was created in nineteen eighty-eight, with an eighteen-hole course designed by Dutch architect Udo Barth. In its early years, the course gained recognition and was considered among the notable layouts on the Côte d’Azur.

From the early two thousands, the site entered a period of decline following several property development projects. Parts of the course were abandoned, and nine holes were removed for a residential programme that was never completed.

A RESTORED ESTATE

In two thousand and seven, the Delli-Zotti family acquired the entire estate, recognising its potential both as a golf destination and a tourism site. The course was in a degraded state, with several holes no longer playable.

The redevelopment was led by architect Michel Guyon, with the aim of restoring a complete eighteen-hole course. Progress was delayed by severe weather, which damaged newly constructed greens. The course was eventually completed in two thousand and nine, returning to a layout shaped by its natural terrain.

Throughout the renovation, attention was given to preserving the existing landscape, including holm oaks, while introducing additional plant species. The result reflects the contrast between the Maures hills and the coastline below.

DEVELOPMENT OF THE RESORT

Following the reopening, the site expanded its facilities to offer a broader experience. A new management team was introduced, with a focus on improving services, developing competitions and strengthening the golf school.

The clubhouse, pro shop and practice areas were upgraded, alongside the addition of new facilities including accommodation, a spa and a restaurant. These developments allow visitors to combine golf with dining and relaxation on site.

A FAMILY-LED PROJECT

The estate remains managed by the Delli-Zotti family, whose approach combines long-term development with a focus on the region and its landscape. Their involvement extends across the different aspects of the site, from golf to hospitality.

INTEGRATION INTO A WIDER NETWORK

In April two thousand and twenty-two, the Golf de Roquebrune joined the Resonance Golf Collection. This partnership supports the continued development of the course while aligning it with a network of golf destinations across France.

Today, the site reflects a balance between its original design, its period of transformation and its current role as a golf and leisure destination.
