Cala Pulpo
Roquebrune-Cap-Martin
Cala Pulpo is a private beach in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, set on the Blue Gulf just beyond the cove by Monte Carlo Bay and Monte Carlo Beach. It offers a quiet, well-run setting for a beach day for one or a small group, with a practical note: it is reached on foot from Roquebrune-Cap-Martin station.
Cala Pulpo is designed for slow-paced beach days with a clear focus on comfort and service. The sunbeds are arranged in shaded rows and fitted with wooden bases and thick mattresses, while the welcome set includes a slice of watermelon, a homemade watermelon and mint smoothie, and two jasmine-scented towels, all included in the rental. The atmosphere stays relaxed throughout the day, with the sound of the waves setting the pace. The decor draws on Mexican and Greek references, using a white palette, wooden furniture, turquoise cushions, and carefully chosen objects to keep the space tidy and uncluttered. The team is young, attentive, and discreet, which suits the calm rhythm of the beach.
The restaurant
The restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine with oriental accents, with all dishes prepared in-house using fresh ingredients. The menu moves from light starters such as trio of mini bao, truffle buffalo mozzarella, and octopus salad to more filling dishes including grilled octopus tentacles, the Cala Pulpo burger, and fresh fish of the day. Desserts stay simple and direct, with options such as red fruit pavlova and watermelon. The bar offers freshly squeezed juices, beers, a selection of wines, and cocktails, including a custom cocktail format for those who prefer to choose their own combination. The mule list follows the Moscow Mule template with ginger beer and lemon, then varies the base spirit with vodka, gin, tequila, or rum.
