From the Alpilles to the world - and back again
Sydney is our Reservations and New Properties Manager, overseeing bookings from start to finish and welcoming new villas into the Provence Holidays collection. Her approach is equal parts local insight and logistical precision - ensuring each guest has the best possible experience, from the first enquiry to the last day of their stay.
A love of home, and a love of hospitality
“My favourite part of the job is matching the right guests with the right villas,” she says. “There is something really special about helping someone discover this region - especially when it is the place you grew up in.”
Born and raised in the Alpilles, Sydney knows Provence not just as a destination, but as home. After studying and working in tourism abroad, she returned to the South of France in 2021 to join the Provence Holidays team. Since then, she has been managing bookings, supporting guests, and sourcing exceptional properties across the region. Alongside guest relations, Sydney also handles the administrative side of things, from confirming bookings to follow-up after guests return. She particularly enjoys visiting new villas, getting to know their stories, and helping owners position them for success.
“There is something really rewarding about helping guests discover the region I grew up in. When you get the match just right between the villa and the guest, it sets the tone for an unforgettable stay.” Sydney
Favourite luxury villa | Villa Paradis
12 people | 5 bedrooms | 5 bathrooms
Tucked into the hills of the Alpilles, Villa Paradis is Sydney’s ultimate favourite. “As the name suggests, it is a true haven of peace,” she says. “The panoramic terraces, the design, the materials, the soft colour palette - everything about this villa aligns with my style.” With its secluded setting, refined interiors, and five-star service, this luxury home is perfect for guests seeking calm, comfort, and a little Provençal glamour. Whether you are planning a peaceful retreat or a special gathering, Villa Paradis delivers on both design and experience.
A village escape with heart | The Private Hotel
5 guests | 3 bedrooms | 3 bathrooms
“It is more intimate and accessible than Villa Paradis, but it has just as much soul,” she explains. “The owner has put so much thought into the decoration, and the welcome is incredibly warm.”
Sydney’s second favourite is The Private Hotel in Fontvieille - a charming and lesser-known village in the Alpilles. Fontvieille is a vibrant, traditional village with a rich cultural heritage. Famous for its white stone quarries and historic windmills, it also has a strong culinary scene and a welcoming atmosphere. For guests who want to experience authentic Provençal village life, The Private Hotel offers comfort, character, and a true sense of place.
Recommended experience | Markets and bike tours
“It is fun, educational, and totally Provençal,” she says. “It’s one of the best ways to connect with the landscape and the people who live here.”
Sydney always recommends that guests make time for a Provençal market - and her favourite is the Eygalières market on Fridays. “It is a perfect way to experience the flavours and character of the region,” she says. “It is lively, local, and full of beautiful produce.” For a family-friendly activity, Sydney also suggests a unique experience led by her father - a bike tour along the canal in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. Tailored for families with children, the tour includes stops at a goat farm to see how cheese is made and a visit to a local honey producer for tastings and insights.
Sydney's favourite region | The Gard
While Sydney loves the Luberon and Alpilles, she is also passionate about highlighting the beauty of the Gard -a neighbouring region full of hidden gems. “The Gard is a land of contrasts,” she says. “There are wild landscapes, quiet villages, and crystal-clear rivers, all just waiting to be discovered. It feels untouched, like you’re experiencing something personal and authentic.” From the rugged Cévennes to the fragrant garrigue, the Gard offers a different pace of Provence. Sydney’s favourite way to explore it? A road trip along the small country roads, windows down, playlist on, with horses grazing in the fields and the scenery slowly unfolding.
With her deep knowledge of the region and her calm, thoughtful approach, Sydney plays a key role in ensuring that every Provence Holidays stay is effortless and memorable. Whether managing complex bookings or recommending quiet corners of the Gard, she brings local insight and genuine care to everything she does.
À bientôt,
Sydney
