Mas des Infermières
Mas des Infermières is located in the Parc Naturel Régional du Luberon, in a landscape of vineyards, olive groves and truffle oaks. The estate is set in a rural environment characterized by hills and farmland.
Since 1992, the Scott family have been regular visitors, taking advantage of the setting for creative activities and relaxation. Today, the site remains a place associated with the life of the estate and its natural environment.
Ridley Scott and his family had been living in the Luberon for over thirty years before acquiring the Mas des Infermières in 1992, with its eleven hectares of vines. Attracted by the light, climate and calm of the area, they decided to develop a family project centered on viticulture.
From the outset, the family was committed to preserving Provençal winemaking traditions, while building a modern winery to ensure controlled production. In this way, the estate is part of a continuity between local know-how and adapted equipment.
The site also has a long history. Before the 19th century, it was located in the Comtat Venaissin, then under papal authority, and would have served as a place of care. It appears officially on the Napoleonic cadastre of 1831, then owned by General Baron Robert.
Situated near Oppède-le-Vieux, as well as the villages of Lacoste, Ménerbes and Bonnieux, the estate benefits from an environment representative of the Luberon. Elements of the local heritage, such as the "Carré de Sator" motif, have also inspired the visual identity of the estate's wines.
