Caffé César L'initial
Côte d'Azur / French Riviera > Opio
This restaurant combines a large terrace with a modern and spacious interior, centred around an open kitchen that places the preparation at the heart of the experience. The menu follows a bistronomic approach, drawing on Provençal and Mediterranean influences with a focus on structure and flavour. Dishes may include red scorpionfish tartlet with artichokes and sumac, seabream with lemon and cardamom sauce accompanied by parsnip, and a chocolate opera. The atmosphere remains relaxed and sociable, with a notable focus on wine, including service by the glass poured from magnums.
Located in the village of Opio, in the hinterland, Caffé César offers a dining space of one hundred and twenty square metres, complemented by a large shaded terrace.
The kitchen is led by chefs Thierry Molinengo and Frédéric Bogé, working side by side in an open kitchen visible from the dining room. This layout allows guests to follow the preparation and reflects a direct and transparent approach.
The menu focuses on Mediterranean cuisine, with continuous service throughout the day. The aim is to offer traditional dishes based on quality ingredients, sourced locally where possible and selected for their consistency.
The chefs prioritise product quality, precision in flavour and a structured approach to cooking. The menu is updated weekly, evolving with seasonal availability, market sourcing and current inspirations, ensuring a varied and regularly changing selection.
