Château de Cremat
Côte d'Azur / French Riviera > Nice
The vines extend over 12 hectares, between 100 and 350 meters above sea level, on the hills of Crémat, Saint-Sauveur, La Manda and Saquier, in the heart of the commune of Nice.
Situated between the sea and the mountains, the vineyard enjoys plenty of sunshine all year round.
It is part of the Bellet appellation, a rare feature for a vineyard located entirely within a large urban area.
The vineyard is planted on a pudding soil composed of rolled pebbles, clay and silica-limestone sand. This poor, draining soil encourages the grapes to ripen slowly, concentrating sugars while preserving freshness.
The vines are planted in narrow terraces, known as "ribas", making the work essentially manual and adapted to each plot.
For the whites, rolle expresses roundness and finesse, while chardonnay adds tension and minerality.
For the reds, the local grape variety, folle noire, structures the wines with deep aromas and balanced tannins, complemented by grenache, which brings richness and suppleness.
The whole reflects a precise approach, linked to the constraints of the terroir and the adaptation of grape varieties.
