Alivetu
In the Saint-Victor district, at the foot of the Notre-Dame de la Garde hill, this small restaurant takes its name from the Corsican word for olive grove, reflecting its Mediterranean influence. The dining space is arranged over two levels, with a polished concrete ground floor and a mezzanine above.
The kitchen focuses on Mediterranean cuisine, illustrated by dishes such as braised endives with flame-charred orange, roasted squash and gorgonzola. At lunchtime, a market menu is presented on a blackboard, while dinner is offered as a surprise menu shaped by seasonal ingredients.
Alivetu reflects the shared vision of Timothée and Marie, who met while training at a hospitality school. After several years working in established French restaurants, they chose to create a place that reflects their approach to food and service: considered, welcoming and focused on quality. Their cooking brings together their respective backgrounds, with a strong Mediterranean influence. Marie’s Italian roots and Timothée’s Corsican heritage shape the menu, guiding both flavour combinations and ingredient selection. The name Alivetu, meaning olive grove in Corsican, refers to the family estate in Lumio near Calvi, where olive trees define the landscape. This reference underlines the importance of origin and produce in their work. The result is a menu that moves between Provence, Corsica and Italy, with a clear focus on seasonal ingredients and traditional techniques.
