Château Fortia
Mont Ventoux > Châteauneuf-du-Pape
The estate extends over 36 hectares, the majority of which is devoted to vines, complemented by natural, wooded and cultivated areas, contributing to the balance of the ecosystem.
The gently sloping, south-facing plots are planted on soils covered with rounded pebbles. The pebbles play an essential thermal role, accumulating heat during the day and releasing it at night, helping to ripen the grapes.
The whole area benefits from a Mediterranean climate characterized by plenty of sunshine and the presence of the Mistral wind, contributing to the quality and regularity of the harvests.
The estate adopts an environmentally-friendly approach, with reasoned management of the vineyard and its ecosystem.
The soil is worked mechanically, without the use of chemical weedkillers, and the vines are protected using alternative methods, such as sexual confusion to limit pests.
A large part of the estate is preserved as natural areas, contributing to the development of flora and fauna.
The estate is committed to sustainable viticulture, with certifications attesting to environmentally-friendly practices and controlled management of resources.
