Golf de Barbaroux in Brignoles
Set within a Mediterranean forest in Brignoles, the Golf de Barbaroux offers a setting shaped by its natural surroundings. Designed by architect Pete Dye, the eighteen-hole course follows the contours of the landscape and presents a varied round.
The estate also includes a four-star hotel, a spa and a bistronomic restaurant, allowing guests to combine golf with relaxation and dining in one location.
Situated between Marseille, Toulon and Saint-Tropez, Barbaroux provides access to both the coast and inland Provence. The property brings together golf, accommodation and regional cuisine within a single destination.
The experience reflects a different way to explore Provence, through its landscapes, its produce and the activities available on site.
THE COURSE AT GOLF DE BARBAROUX
Located in the Var, the Golf de Barbaroux offers an eighteen-hole course set within eighty-seven hectares of Provençal forest. Designed by Pete Dye and opened in nineteen eighty-eight, the par seventy-two layout reflects his approach to course architecture, combining strategy with natural terrain.
A TECHNICAL AND VARIED LAYOUT
The course is known for its fast, undulating greens, structured bunkers and fairways that require careful positioning. Each hole encourages a considered approach, where precision and course management play a key role.
Despite its technical aspects, the course remains accessible to a wide range of players. Both experienced golfers and visitors can adapt their game to the layout and pace of the round.
A DESIGN BY PETE DYE
Pete Dye, recognised internationally for his work, designed Barbaroux with a focus on balance between challenge and playability. His signature elements appear throughout the course, including defined lines, shaped bunkers and greens that demand accuracy.
GOLF AND BIODIVERSITY IN PROVENCE
The Golf de Barbaroux is set within a protected natural environment and is committed to preserving local biodiversity. The course has been awarded the Bronze label in the “Golf pour la Biodiversité” programme, developed by the French Golf Federation in partnership with the National Museum of Natural History.
This recognition reflects measures such as habitat preservation, controlled water management and ongoing actions to support local flora and fauna.
Barbaroux offers a course where golf and the surrounding environment are closely connected.
