Cave de Bonnieux
Cave de Bonnieux, with over one hundred years of history, is one of the oldest cooperative wineries in the Vaucluse. It brings together winemakers committed to the quality of their wines and the development of the Luberon terroir.
Over the years, the cellar has evolved while retaining its collective nature. In 2011, major work was undertaken, including the construction of a new storage building and the complete renovation of the roof, equipped with photovoltaic panels.
In 2012, these improvements mark a new stage in the winery's development, accompanied by the implementation of the ISO 9001 standard, testifying to a determination to structure processes and guarantee a constant level of quality.
The Cave de Bonnieux produces wines from two distinct appellations: AOP Luberon and AOP Ventoux. These different terroirs give each cuvée its own specific characteristics, linked to the soils and growing conditions.
Located in the Parc Naturel Régional du Luberon, the winery is committed to respecting the environment. As early as 1996, an autonomous wastewater treatment plant was installed to prevent the discharge of pollutants. The winegrowers also apply integrated pest management practices to preserve the balance of the vineyard.
The winery's territory extends around Bonnieux and several neighboring communes, including Goult, Roussillon, Lacoste and Gordes, on either side of the Calavon river. The landscape alternates between vineyards, cherry orchards and olive groves.
To the north, the Ventoux PDO area is characterized by rolling hills of varied relief, with soils including ochre sands and clay-limestone marls. To the south, the Luberon PDO develops on hillsides composed mainly of sandy-clay soils, often organized in terraces, resulting from erosion of the surrounding relief.
This diversity of soils and exposures, combined with the hard work of our winegrowers, results in a variety of wine profiles that are representative of the region.
