Château du Seuil Vins Coteaux
Aix-en-Provence > Aix-en-Provence
Château du Seuil is a listed estate whose origins date back to the 15th and 18th centuries. It is an outstanding example of Provencal architectural heritage.
The vineyard extends over sixty-two hectares, all of which are certified organic. It produces white, rosé and red Provence wines, available for tasting and sale at the estate.
Guided tours of the site and the wines produced on site are available all year round, upon reservation.
Acquired in 2014 by the Daussun family, Château du Seuil has undergone a renovation program designed to enhance both the vineyard and the site's heritage.
The initial work involved restructuring the vines and converting them to organic farming, as well as creating a modern gravity-fed winery and a sales cellar adapted to welcome visitors.
A second phase involves the restoration of the château, one of the oldest in the Pays d'Aix, with the aim of preserving its architectural character. The gardens and grounds have also been redesigned in the spirit of 18th-century French gardens, with bosquets, geometric parterres and a pond.
The château and its gardens are now listed on the supplementary inventory of historic monuments, testifying to their heritage interest.
