Le Bistrot de Jan
Côte d'Azur / French Riviera > Nice
Located on the port of Nice, in the immediate vicinity of the Michelin-starred restaurant JAN, Bistrot de Jan offers a more relaxed version of the restaurant, while retaining a meticulous approach. The decor combines emerald green hues, exposed stonework and elaborate decorative elements, in a revisited bistro spirit. The menu balances French classics, such as tournedos Rossini, sole meunière and tarte Tatin, with more personal influences. Chef Jan Hendrik incorporates references to his South African roots, notably with a revisited bobotie or the Malva pudding dessert. Vegetarian options complete the offer. An affordable lunch menu is also available. The whole is based on a structured cuisine, blending tradition and contemporary influences, in a well-kept setting.
Located on the port of Nice, close to Jan Hendrik's gourmet table, Jan's Bistrot offers bistronomic cuisine in a retro-structured setting.
The dining room combines stone vaults, wood panelling and elaborate decorative elements, complemented by a year-round terrace. The whole presents a coherent visual identity.
In the kitchen, the menu is inspired by Mediterranean, Italian and South African cuisine. Dishes include flank steak tataki with XO sauce, romaine-style gnocchi with hazelnut butter and romesco sauce, and sharing dishes such as chicken pie and couscous.
The signature dessert, Malva pudding, completes the offer. The wine list features a Franco-South African selection of wines.
The restaurant also offers a multi-course Sunday menu, ideal for extended meals.
