La Passagère
Juan les Pins
This historic hotel, known for its connection to Zelda and F. Scott Fitzgerald during the nineteen twenties, occupies a striking position between the sea and the red hills of the Estérel. The setting alone draws attention, yet the kitchen has also established its own reputation.
Chef Aurélien Véquaud leads the restaurant with a menu that reflects Mediterranean ingredients while also drawing on his roots in the Vendée. The dishes combine coastal produce with precise technique and balanced flavours.
Examples from the menu include little tunny served with semi-confit tomatoes and rocket vinaigrette. Another dish presents crab with unpasteurised cream in a soft cannelloni, accompanied by verbena foam and fennel. Sea bass may be served with shellfish prepared *marinière* and Oscietra caviar.
Guests can enjoy the meal on a terrace that looks across the sea towards the Estérel hills.
La Passagère reflects the Art Deco character of this historic property. This Michelin-starred restaurant focuses on seafood, with fish and shellfish making up the bulk of the menu. Chef Aurélien Véquaud directs the kitchen with dishes that combine meticulous technique and thoughtful flavor combinations.
The menu showcases Mediterranean ingredients, prepared with respect for their natural character while introducing judicious contrasts. Alongside him, the pastry chef creates desserts that follow the same approach, combining seasonal produce with meticulous preparation. La Passagère is open from Wednesday to Sunday, and welcomes both hotel guests and visitors discovering the region.
La Passagère offers a terrace with an unobstructed view of the sea and the Lérins islands, making it an exceptional setting for lunch or dinner. Inside, the dining room has been redesigned by Olivier Antoine, with large windows allowing natural light to penetrate the space. The interior reflects the Art Deco heritage of the Belles Rives hotel. Restored chrome chandeliers, period murals and mosaic flooring remain central features, complemented by a collection of ceramic pieces. From the terrace, guests can follow the changing light over the coastline and islands throughout the day.
