Le Restaurant Des Rois
Côte d'Azur / French Riviera > Beaulieu-sur-Mer
Originally built in 1880 and later enlarged in Florentine Renaissance style, this hotel remains one of the Côte d'Azur's iconic properties. Since the early 20th century, it has welcomed a wide range of guests, including European royalty and film industry personalities such as Rita Hayworth and Frank Sinatra.
The restaurant's terrace overlooks the Mediterranean, offering unobstructed views of the coastline during lunch or dinner.
Chef Julien Roucheteau, who worked in Paris at La Table du Lancaster and Scène Thélème, now heads the kitchen. His menu respects the traditions of the house while introducing a contemporary approach to presentation.
Each dish follows a precise theme that revolves around flavor, texture and careful preparation. The result is a menu that reflects both the history of the hotel and the ingredients of the Riviera.
The gourmet restaurant at La Réserve de Beaulieu has been part of the Riviera's gastronomic scene since 1880. Often referred to as the "Restaurant des Rois", it continues a long tradition of hospitality and gastronomy in this historic hotel. Large windows bring natural light into the dining room and offer views of the Mediterranean. Guests can dine indoors or on the terrace overlooking the sea, a setting closely linked to the character of the Côte d'Azur.
Chef Julien Roucheteau heads the kitchen at Restaurant des Rois. Named Meilleur Ouvrier de France in two thousand and nineteen, he previously worked for over twenty years in Paris with several great chefs, including Philippe Legendre at the George V and Michel Troisgros at the Lancaster. At the Lancaster, he was awarded two Michelin stars in two thousand and fifteen. At La Réserve de Beaulieu, he applies this experience to a menu shaped by seasonal ingredients and meticulous technique. The kitchen works with citrus fruits, homemade vinegars and grilled meats to bring out the natural character of the produce. The chef also maintains close relationships with local fishermen, farmers and breeders, selecting ingredients that reflect the surrounding Mediterranean landscape.
Each service is guided by the restaurant team, under the direction of Guillaume, who oversees the dining room. Their aim is to present a meal where food, wine and setting come together to create a clear, well-paced experience for guests. The result is a restaurant where heritage, technique and regional ingredients meet in one of the Côte d'Azur's longest-established addresses.
