Bringing Provence to new audiences
Monika is our Paid Media Specialist, responsible for running the digital advertising campaigns that introduce guests from around the world to Provence Holidays. From analysing user behaviour and planning seasonal campaigns to testing creatives that inspire travel dreams, Monika’s work happens behind the scenes - but its impact is everywhere.
A strategist at heart, with a global perspective
“My favourite part of the role is the strategic side - researching markets, understanding user behaviour, and exploring what kinds of content and visuals really resonate,” she says. “But at the core of it, it’s about one thing: introducing people to Provence.”
With a background in media and communications, Monika originally set out to become a journalist. But while studying at Newcastle University, she began working in digital communications for universities - and soon found herself drawn into the world of paid media. That was over ten years ago. Today, she brings her expertise in market research, data analysis, and content strategy to Provence Holidays, working closely with the company founder, Simon, to make sure the right guests are seeing the right message at the right time. Monika is also passionate about travel. Her role allows her the flexibility to spend time working remotely from nature-rich destinations where she can hike, cycle, and meet people along the way. She speaks English and Lithuanian fluently, and also knows basic French, Spanish, and German - skills she builds on with every trip.
“Campaigns are all about connection. If we understand our audience well enough - what they need, what inspires them, what makes them pause - then we can help them discover a place that will genuinely move them.” Monika
Monika's recommended experiences in Provence
Although she has not yet walked the lavender fields herself, Monika’s extensive work with guest experiences allows her to confidently recommend some of the best ways to explore the region. “These are the kinds of experiences that stay with you,” she says. “They help you slow down and connect with the landscape.”
Hot air balloon ride
There are few experiences as serene - and as striking - as a hot air balloon ride at sunrise over Provence. Guests float gently above rolling vineyards, flowering lavender fields, and hilltop villages bathed in golden light. From the sky, the patchwork of cypress-lined roads, ochre cliffs, and Romanesque architecture unfolds like a painting. It's a beautiful way to witness the changing colours of the landscape, offering both quiet reflection and awe-inspiring views that cannot be found at ground level. A glass of champagne often awaits after landing, making the experience even more memorable.
Guided bike tour
Led by knowledgeable local guides, Provence Holidays' bike tours take guests on thoughtfully curated routes through olive groves, vineyards, lavender fields, and ancient stone hamlets. These are not just rides - they are rolling stories of the region. Along the way, guests can stop to visit small-scale producers: see goats being milked for fresh cheese, taste honey straight from the hive, and learn about the traditions that define Provençal life. These tours are relaxed in pace, ideal for families and curious travellers alike, and offer a deeper connection to the culture and rhythm of the countryside.
Canoeing adventure
For a peaceful yet invigorating way to discover Provence, Monika recommends a canoeing trip along one of the region’s gentle rivers - such as the Sorgue or the Durance. Surrounded by lush greenery and the soundtrack of cicadas and birdsong, guests can drift past limestone cliffs, arched stone bridges, and riverside villages rarely seen by road. The calm waters and easy pace make it suitable for all ages and experience levels. It is the perfect mix of mild adventure and natural immersion - ideal for cooling off on a summer afternoon or enjoying a tranquil moment with the region’s quieter, more hidden beauty.
A hilltop haven with a view | Mas de Bel Air
“It’s incredibly well-positioned, with views over the Monts du Vaucluse and the rooftops of Gordes. But it also feels very private and serene,” she says. “The original architecture has been beautifully preserved, and the interiors are elegant without being overdone.”
Monika’s second favourite property is Mas de Bel Air, perched on a hill above The Luberon valley. Just five minutes’ walk from Gordes, it offers the perfect blend of location, character, and comfort. With five ensuite bedrooms, a large heated pool, and direct access to a scenic walking path into the village, Mas de Bel Air is ideal for families, couples, or groups of friends who want the best of both worlds: seclusion and easy access to culture, cuisine, and village life.
Favourite property | La Bastide des Sources
“What stood out to me immediately was how comprehensive it is,” she says. “From the pool house and summer kitchen to the fitness room and high-speed Wi-Fi - even by the pool - it has been designed with real thought and care.”
For Monika, La Bastide des Sources near Roussillon captures the very essence of a luxurious Provençal escape. Accommodating up to 15 guests across eight ensuite bedrooms, the villa offers total privacy, panoramic views, and expansive grounds with olive trees and lavender fields. She also appreciates the top-floor studio with a games room - perfect for families with children or teenagers needing their own space. “It’s the kind of villa where every detail has been considered. You can see it in the layout, the materials, the design. And the views are just insane.”
Behind every search, scroll, and villa discovery is someone making sure the message reaches the right person. Monika brings precision, creativity, and a thoughtful approach to paid media, helping new audiences fall in love with Provence before they even arrive. Whether fine-tuning a campaign or recommending a hot air balloon ride, she keeps one goal in mind: making the journey to Provence feel inevitable - and unforgettable.
À bientôt,
