With a love for language and an instinct for storytelling, Frederique has built a career around words.
At Provence Holidays, she is responsible for editing and refining the Dutch version of the website, helping ensure our listings, destination pages, and editorial features resonate with guests from the Netherlands and beyond.
A passion for language and clear communication
Born in Holland, Frederique grew up with a strong interest in reading and writing - something that seemed inevitable with two parents who both began their careers in journalism. Following in their footsteps, she spent her mid-twenties writing for a regional Dutch newspaper and contributing to various lifestyle magazines. After moving to the UK, she found her way into advertising, landing a role at a small London-based agency seeking a Dutch-speaking copywriter. The role combined creative writing, translation, client management, and account development—a blend that suited her perfectly.
In 2021, a small job posting caught her attention. Provence Holidays was looking for a Dutch-speaking freelance content editor to help manage and translate rental property listings and other website content. “It felt like the perfect fit,” she recalls. “A few months later, I got the job - and I’m still here, doing what I enjoy most.”
Frederique’s approach to content is grounded in clarity and tone. “The other day, I read a quote: ‘A copywriter can write how their audience speak.’ That sums up a large part of my role,” she explains. “It’s about creating connection, using an approachable and conversational voice to encourage action.”
Alongside copywriting, her editing work is about refinement -cutting through clutter, polishing the structure, and ensuring all details are error-free and informative. In a multilingual team, accuracy and nuance are essential, and Frederique’s editorial touch helps maintain consistency and trust across the Dutch-language site.
With a background that spans journalism, client management, and copywriting, Frederique brings both structure and style to our Dutch content. Whether adapting listings for tone or sharpening blog translations for clarity, her work ensures that Provence Holidays continues to speak fluently - and convincingly - to Dutch guests looking for their perfect stay.
À bientôt,
Frederique
