What we like
Pool: a brilliant place to spend the day – it’s big, heated, and the poolhouse has a kitchen.
View: a great view from the high pool setting as well as the boules court.
Fun: from the funky living room to the cool pool area to exploring the grounds, this is a fun place to be based.
Location: it’s in Provence countryside but only 1km away is Ménerbes, officially one of France’s ‘Most Beautiful Villages’.
Things to note
Poolhouse: the house sleeps 8 if you sleep 2 in the poolhouse, which is 60 metres from the main house, and self-contained with kitchen and bathroom. The main house sleeps 6.
Exterior
The land goes from terrace to lawn, to vineyard to wooded hill. At the front of the house is the south-facing terrace with dining table and bbq. There are comfortable seating and lounging areas by the lawn.
A level up from the pool area is the boules/petanque court and all the equipment you need to play.
There is secure, off-street parking for several cars.
Pool
The pool is set 60 metres from the house, and offers a wonderful view northward to Mont Ventoux and all around.
The pool is heated, and also big enough to swim lengths, 17m/56ft long. It has an electronic sliding cover for security. Around the pool is a large decked area with funky sunloungers.
The pool-house has a kitchen with cooker, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. It also has toilet and showers both inside and out. You can take your meals at the poolside dining table.
Interior
Ménerbes Les Cyprès is a contemporary barn conversion in the countryside 1 km from the great village of Menerbes. The interior design is modern and the setting classic Provence. The big heated pool is set away from the house and the self-contained poolhouse can sleep 2 on a sofabed or mezzanine bed. The main house sleeps 6 in 3 double bedrooms.
Downstairs the living room, kitchen and dining room are all in one convivial space, and open out onto the garden, outside dining and BBQ.
Living Room: with suspended wood-burning stove and L-shaped sofa, this room is young at heart. It also has TV/DVD and WiFi internet.
Kitchen: finished in wood and steel, the kitchen has 4-ring stove, oven, dishwasher, coffee machine, fridge-freezer and wine cabinet.
Dining Room: in between kitchen and living room, and open plan to both.
Laundry Room: off the kitchen, the laundry room has washing machine and dryer.
Bedrooms
Les Cyprès Ménerbes sleeps 8. In the main house are 3 double bedrooms, all upstairs; and two bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs. The poolhouse can sleep 2 more people and is self-contained with kitchen and bathroom.
Bedroom 1: with a double bed and a view over the garden.
Bedroom 2: with a queen-sized double bed and a view over the garden.
Bedroom 3: with a double bed.
Bedroom 4: in the poolhouse, either on the sofa-bed or the mezzanine bed, so best for independent teens.
Bathroom 1: luxury bathroom upstairs with big walk-in shower, pedestal bath with jacuzzi jets, double basins.
Separate WC upstairs.
Bathroom 2: downstairs, with shower and basin. Separate WC downstairs.
Bathroom 3: in the poolhouse, with shower, basin and WC.

Lovely Paradise in Provence
If you want the quick summary, this is a lovely home in which to base yourself in this most beautiful area of France. Its a very comfortable, well equipped, value for money, quiet, picturesque residence on the outskirts of Menerbes, one of the most beautiful of the beautiful villages in this part of Provence. We have been to the property on 2 separate occasions in the last 5 years the last being a 2 week stay, we'd come more often but live in Sydney. Neither have disappointed. We were travelling with 2 young adults who wanted (and got) their own space and wifi, parents that wanted peace (and got it) and a grandmother who enjoyed the tranquility the house so easily offers. The residence includes a pool which is very much separate from the house, and has a pool house in which one of the boys took up residence. Its basic but comfortable. The house has good bedrooms that remained cool and were very comfortable, a lovely outdoor area and a very function kitchen. Whilst the overall location is very quiet, its is well placed, either to Menerbes itself, the house sitting at the green base of this beautiful elevated village, or to many of the villages in the surrounding areas. There is a very large supermarket not 10 minutes by car and easy road access to the surrounding regions. The lease is simple and Denis the owner responsive to communications. Once leased, you are met at the property but all was self explanatory. When we had one small issue with an appliance assistance was quick and resolved it very competently. That was our only issue over 2 stays. Both stays have only left us wanting more (we will return in 2020) such is the effect of this residence and its location. We hope you get the opportunity to enjoy it.
Great!
We had a great time at Menerbes Les Cypres. The house was good and we especially enjoyed our daily lap swimming and playing in the pool and regular petanque. I even got to pick some ripe cherries and make a cherry tarte tatin .
Fantastic week
We had the most fantastic week. We took our grown up kids and friends and they were totally enraptured by the place, as were we. The conversion is wonderful and the pool area especially great - we played a lot of petanque and pool games, I think I spent almost one whole hour just floating around on a noodle watching buzzards. The girls loved the art, my son had vinyl envy and the lawn was just the right size for holiday cricket. The owner's attention to detail and comfort made us feel at home and not too overawed to enjoy ourselves. To be honest I'm not sure if the website does justice to how special the house is and leaving after only one week was tough.
