What we like best

Location: Mas d'Ansouis is ideally located in the southern Luberon, a ten-minute walk from the village of Ansouis and less than ten minutes from the award-winning villages of Lourmarin and Cucuron, close to hiking trails in the magnificent Luberon hills, twenty minutes from the center of Aix en Provence and thirty minutes from its train station.
Comfortable living spaces: Enjoy alfresco dining and fresh rosés on the many shaded terraces dotted around the property, overlooking the splendid garden, or read a good book in the large air-conditioned orangery with floor-to-ceiling French windows and views over the pool and surrounding countryside.
Pool area: This 12 x 6 m heated pool is a delight for children and adults alike. It's nestled in a beautiful setting and has comfortable loungers for relaxing by the water.

Please note

Pool safety: The pool is secured by an electric shutter, but is not fenced. We therefore recommend that young children are supervised by adults at all times when in the vicinity.

Exterior

Nestled in the enchanting landscape of the southern Luberon, this vast 10,500^m2 garden is a paradise of greenery. A verdant lawn invites outdoor activities, while tall pine trees provide welcome shade in summer. The fragrant aroma of rosemary and colorful flowers punctuate the garden.
Scattered across the grounds, numerous shaded terraces provide the perfect spot to relax and dine al fresco, while the new kitchen and outdoor dining area make for unforgettable evenings.

Pool

Dive into this 12 x 6 m pool, surrounded by the stunning Provencal countryside, with large parasols and sun loungers nearby. Dip your toes into the water and watch the ripples glinting in the Mediterranean sun. Notice your surroundings, the wide landscape as well as the small details, bring your attention inwards, allow yourself to let go of your worries, and relax.

This stunning, 250 m² property offers a luxurious and spacious living experience. Enter through the magnificent vaulted hallway on the ground floor, where you will also find the centrepiece of the Mas, the large and fully equipped kitchen, complete with a beautiful island counter that provides a perfect spot for family breakfasts. The expansive living room, located in the orangery, bathes in natural light, creating a serene atmosphere for relaxation and gatherings. Adjacent to it, a cozy TV room provides a space for entertainment and relaxation. Come together to chat, to watch TV, or to play cards, boardgames, and partygames, as you create treasured memories with your loved ones. A small office offers a quiet spot for work or can easily be transformed into a spare bedroom to accommodate guests. Upstairs, the property boasts four double bedrooms, each adorned with brand new ensuite bathrooms, exuding modern elegance and comfort. The bedrooms are light and airy, perfect for pleasant dreams and gentle mornings. This residence presents the ideal blend of functionality, style, and comfort, ensuring a delightful holiday experience for its lucky inhabitants.

The ground-floor study features a sofa bed and smart TV, making it possible to accommodate an extra guest or enjoy streaming services for entertainment. This room has its own bathroom with shower, washbasin and WC.

A Great Holiday Home Rental

In July 2025 we rented a holiday home in Ansouis, Provence, through the rental agency Provence Holidays. The whole experience was superb. The admin by the agency worked perfectly, and the locally-based housekeeper/cleaner/administrator was helpful. More importantly, the house itself was super and very much as described – maybe even better than described! Recently refurbished throughout, it was a very tasteful modernisation of a more traditional Provencal building, set in large grounds with a rural outlook and feel, while just a 10-15 minute walk from the village. All four double bedrooms had en-suite bathrooms. The furnishings of all rooms were modern and tasteful. The whole house was very well equipped, with a great kitchen, more seating than any of the 6 of use could sit in in the week we were there. A large, properly heated (29 deg C) (safely covered) swimming pool outside, set in the BIG, well-tended gardens, was a delight for all the family. The grounds had numerous options for places to sit, and tables at which to eat, either in or out of the sun. The fact that the house was owned and let by a family who left books, toys, nice crockery and linens meant that it was both homely and comfortable, while remaining stylish. Ansouis is a delightful, hilltop village, with a well-stocked small supermarket, several lovely shops, a great restaurant, and the best pâtisserie in France – maybe the world? We loved it.

We had a really nice time in your beautiful home.

It’s an incredibly comfortable and gracious space that exudes Provence charm. We will certainly be keen to return, if you’ll have us, and hopefully for more than one week next time! We also found Ansuis to be the perfect village and a really well situation hub for daily excursions. We will have fun over the years trying to remember which village was which - they are all so distinctive. Thanks again for your hospitality and for allowing us the time in your special property,
