What we like
Location: nestled in the heart of the Luberon Valley, Le Moulin de Gordes is perfectly secluded in Provençal countryside whilst being only 1.5km from Gordes, one of the most beautiful villages in France. History: this former 17th-century olive oil mill has been lovingly restored to a luxurious standard but stays true to its authentic Provençal roots. Garden: the lovely garden offers several atmospheres with its boules court, heated swimming pool surrounded by local species and many shaded terraces.
Things to note
Pool Security: the pool has an electric shutter, but is not gated, so extra care is needed with younger children. Suitcases: for suitcases, there is a door at the back of the house that goes directly to the first floor to avoid the stairs. Bedrooms: all bedrooms are accessible by a spiral staircase and have mezzanines (except bedrooms 2 and 3).
Exterior
The enclosed garden invites you to sit under the shade of the trees for meals, to play boules or table tennis, and enjoy the full sun at the heated swimming pool which is partly carved into the rock. There is no vis-à-vis and the vegetation is an authentic concentrate of Provence with its evergreen holly oaks, plane trees and Mediterranean species. The perfect environment for sharing peaceful and memorable moments with your loved ones.
Pool
This private 12m x 4m swimming pool, with views of the cliffs and gardens, features a children's beach so the little ones don't feel left out... absolutely perfect for a family holiday!
Interior

With stone walls to the north and south, the French windows which open onto the garden create a cool and pleasant atmosphere in this authentic property. Upstairs, you will find eight air-conditioned bedrooms and their respective ensuite bathrooms.

Perfect group holiday in Gordes
We have just returned from a fantastic week stay at Le Moulin de Gordes. We stayed with 13 friends and the house was able to comfortably fit us all with lots of plates, glasses and en-suite rooms for everyone. The location was great and most things were 10-15 minutes away by car.
Jeremy was very welcoming. We enjoyed the pool area and had a chef come to the house for a long lunch one day. We can highly recommend this beautiful property!
The villa was the perfect base for our extended family holiday. We enjoyed exploring local villages and markets, relaxing by the wonderful pool, preparing feasts in the well equipped kitchen and many highly competitive games of Pétanque. There was space for everyone and the owner was very responsive to any questions we had.
The best of the 4 different places we have rented in Provence. Our group of 13 adults was very impressed with the bedrooms and household furnishings. Multiple dinning areas inside and outside. Air conditioning in all bedrooms a major plus. Covered and heated pool was go to gathering place after day of touring. His wines are very good too.
In the heart of the Vaucluse mountains, Gordes is a perched Provençal village, ranked among the most beautiful in France, whose charm immediately affects the visitor. Entirely built in dry stone, it shines with a thousand lights under the morning sun and offers a breathtaking view of the Luberon forests.
