Le Bénitier
Côte d'Azur / French Riviera > Cannes
Le Bénitier is a private beach on Boulevard du Midi, close to the Old Port and away from Cannes’s busiest stretches. It combines a calm setting with a pontoon on the water, where the sea view changes the pace of the day.
Le Bénitier is designed for guests who want a day by the water without the rush. The beach has four rows of deckchairs with thick mattresses, set directly in the sand, while the pontoon adds another way to settle in and look out towards the Massif de l’Esterel or the Lérins Islands. The atmosphere is quiet and composed throughout the day, with a layout that suits time spent with family, friends, or even a private event. Dogs are also welcome, which makes the beach more practical for guests who travel with their four-legged companion. The décor follows a restrained seaside style, using beige and white tones, wood, dried flowers, and green wall plants to keep the focus on the setting rather than excess detail.
The restaurant
The restaurant is led by Chef David, who builds a menu around international flavours rather than a single culinary theme. Guests can choose from dishes such as oriental pearls, Greek salad, butter chicken, and a selection of sushi, sashimi, maki, and California rolls prepared on site by a sushi chef. Sharing boards are also available, which works well for aperitifs and informal meals. The kitchen is open from twelve o’clock to four thirty in the afternoon each day, with evening service from seven thirty to ten thirty in July and August. Among the house specialities are sardine rillettes, salmon gravlax, beef fillet with potatoes shot, beef loc lac with fragrant rice, and 50 shades of fish. For dessert, the lemon meringue tart and tiramisu speculos are made by Jérôme Ravel. The bar completes the offer with a list of signature cocktails, including Un Dos Tres, Rock Bottom, and Sweety Peachy.
