The Palais des Papes welcomes 600,000 visitors a year. It is one of the 10 most visited monuments in France.

This unique architectural ensemble is classified by UNESCO as "World Heritage of Humanity".
The monument is the most important Gothic palace in the West (15,000 m2 of floor space, in volume 4 Gothic cathedrals), and presents to the visitor more than twenty places, theaters of events with universal impact, including private apartments of the pope and their fabulous frescoes executed by the Italian artist Matteo Giovannetti.
The monument also offers the visitor a regular cultural entertainment throughout the year. Themed and educational exhibitions, themed tours and concerts are organized.
During the summer season, in general, a large art exhibition is held in the Grande Chapelle ("Les Papesses" in 2013, Miquel Barcelo in 2010, "La beauté" in 2000, etc ...) D'Avignon, created by Jean Vilar in 1947, take place in July in the Cour d'Honneur of the Palais.
