What we like

  • The audio-guided tour takes you back through the history of the Theatre built under the rule of Augustus in the 1st century, and the spectators in Antiquity.
  • Thanks to the virtual visit, plunge into the heart of the construction of the Ancient Theatre of Orange and discover its monumental decors.
  • The Escape Game "Teutobod: the curse of the barbarians": in teams of 2 to 6 people, this new activity proposes a rediscovery of the Theatre and its history while solving enigmas and challenges.
  • Animations proposed each year from the Easter holidays until the end of August.

In the heart of the Rhone valley, the Ancient Orange Theatre is certainly one of the most beautiful legacies of Imperial Rome. An exceptional testimony of Antiquity inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, it is the best preserved theatre in Europe.
It owes its fame to its magnificent stage wall, surprisingly well preserved and unique in the western world. It is an ideal venue for performances in Roman times, and is still used today for the enjoyment of music lovers from all over the world.
