A Lovely Family Holiday Home

This is the only villa we have ever returned to. The setting amongst the mountains, just shy of Cucuron village, and in the glorious fields of flowers is stunning. The house is well laid out and cosily furnished to accommodate a large family (like ours) and additional guests (we had both of our mothers). The housekeeping service is a bonus, and feels really indulgent. We spent so many wonderful days pottering around the garden, lounging by the pool, and using the alfresco dining area. A super house, in a beautiful setting. A truly memorable and happy holiday.

Well Provence certainly lived up to our expectations... Nun, die Provence hat unsere Erwartungen erfüllt...

Firstly, we had a totally splendid holiday at Mas du Valent and would very much like to return.

The location is excellent, totally private, quiet and a lovely large plot and yet only a 15 minute walk into the centre of St Remy. The provision of a private parking space in town is most useful for when returning with all the goodies purchased at the Wednesday market. The host, Jean Yves, and his delightful wife Isabelle, were most obliging and when the odd niggle did occur (the power went out briefly) he responded very quickly. On two occasions he turned up with breakfast croissants for us. This is a five bedroom property which sleeps ten in five double beds. Three are in the main house, one master bedroom upstairs with en-suite and two downstairs, opening onto the gardens with a shared bathroom and separate loo. In the 'dependence' or annex there is a bedroom with bathroom and loo and a sofa bed in the sitting room. These rooms are not quite so nice but ideal for kids as they can get some privacy or for guests passing through. The living room is comfortable, air-conditioned and has a large flat screen smart TV. We spent very little time inside. The kitchen has been designed by someone who doesn't cook! It is well equipped (although oddly missing one or two expected items like a pair of scissors and a water jug). The fridge, hob and dishwasher are all within a couple of feet of each other and only one can be accessed at a time. If, like us, you are mainly preparing salads, cold food or BBQ-ing outside then it is fine. Coffee making facilities are excellent with a Nespresso machine and a larger bean-to-cup job. The device I missed the most was an ice making machine. If, like us, you are drinking industrial quantities of Provencal Rose, you need a lot of ice for the ice buckets. Making ice in little trays in the (quite small) freezer was a bit of a bore. The garden and pool area is first class, with lots of shade when it gets too hot. The Jacuzzi and sauna didn't appear to be working when we were there but I don't think we really wanted them. Nice for the cooler months though and I think that is Jean Yves' intention. There is a second dining area outside a small building with a pizza oven but it looked like it hadn't been used in ages (maybe a future project for Jean Yves). I recommend spending a day with Jean Yves and Isabelle on their boat, a lovely 54ft Janneau yacht. His rates are reasonable and you will have great fun (I am not a sailor!). In summary, Mas du Valent is a lovely place to stay and the negatives did not detract from our enjoyment (except for the odd glass of warm Rose due to lack of ice!). Jean Yves has an impish sense of humour but be in no doubt he wants you to have fun and will assist with any problems or queries.

A beautiful property

A friendly welcome by the owners made us feel like home immediately. The house, all spaces, are warmly furnished and decorated in style. All clean and regularly looked after very well by the cleaning staff. During our stay all of our family members spent most of their time in the centrally located kitchen with lots of space and the beautifull cour. Goult is a nice village just a 10 minutes walk away and we enjoy the luberon anyway as one of the nicest places in france. We will be back !

L'accueil plus que chaleureux de Jean-Yves et de son épouse, ainsi que leur disponibilité et gentillesse ont fait que ce séjour s'est merveilleusement déroulé. Le mas est magnifique, dans un très beau cadre proche de st Rémy. La piscine est confortable, mais il serait préférable de la chauffer légèrement (il peut y avoir beaucoup de vent en Provence). Les équipements sont modernes et la décoration a été fait avec beaucoup de goût. Le bien est très bien entretenu par les propriétaires. Nous garderons cette adresse pour un prochain séjour en Provence. Encore un grand merci à vous Jean Yves et à Madame !

Great Service from Provence Holidays Toller Service von Provence Holidays

We were due to have two weeks here in September but unfortunately the change in Foreign Office policy meant we had to cancel. I would like to stress that despite the huge pressure Provence Holidays were suddenly under they refunded our payments in full within a week of the cancellation. We could not ask for any more. Simon and his team have been extremely helpful throughout, helping us find the property that fitted our requirements. I was particularly impressed with his local knowledge and understanding of what we were looking for. We are so disappointed that we cannot enjoy the house and Provence but very glad we booked with such a helpful and honest company. I would not hesitate to use them again.

Wir sollten im September zwei Wochen hier haben, aber leider bedeutete die Änderung der Politik des Auswärtigen Amtes, dass wir absagen mussten. Ich möchte betonen, dass die Provence Holidays trotz des enormen Drucks plötzlich unter Druck standen und unsere Zahlungen innerhalb einer Woche nach der Stornierung vollständig zurückerstattet haben. Mehr konnten wir nicht verlangen. Simon und sein Team waren durchweg äußerst hilfreich und haben uns dabei geholfen, die Immobilie zu finden, die unseren Anforderungen entspricht. Ich war besonders beeindruckt von seinem lokalen Wissen und Verständnis für das, was wir suchten. Wir sind so enttäuscht, dass wir das Haus und die Provence nicht genießen können, aber sehr froh, dass wir bei einer so hilfsbereiten und ehrlichen Firma gebucht haben. Ich würde nicht zögern, sie wieder zu verwenden.

La maison est magnifiquement

Située à quelques minutes du centre-ville, au pieds des alpilles et entourée de la forêt de pins. Les cigales sont les seules voisines immédiates. Les photos n’exagèrent aucunement la beauté du lieu.

Can't praise Provence holidays highly enough. Booking was speedy, staff honest and informative and we got the villa we wanted with the minimum of fuss. Unfortunately the new Government travel warnings re. Covid meant we had to cancel and we were absolutely stunned by the way Provence holidays, in particular Simon, dealt with the problem. They were fast, professional and very considerate. The money was refunded with no fuss and I would hundred percent travel with them next year, in fact we're looking into booking the Villa we had to cancel now. Outstanding.

Ich kann die Ferien in der Provence nicht hoch genug loben. Die Buchung war schnell, das Personal ehrlich und informativ und wir bekamen die Villa, die wir wollten, mit einem Minimum an Aufwand. Leider sind die neuen Reisewarnungen der Regierung bezüglich. Covid meinte, wir müssten absagen und wir waren absolut verblüfft darüber, wie die Ferien in der Provence, insbesondere Simon, mit dem Problem umgingen. Sie waren schnell, professionell und sehr rücksichtsvoll. Das Geld wurde ohne viel Aufhebens zurückerstattet und ich würde nächstes Jahr hundertprozentig mit ihnen reisen. Tatsächlich planen wir die Buchung der Villa, die wir jetzt stornieren mussten. Hervorragend.

Due to government guidelines we had to cancel our trip. I sent an email on the Friday advising this and had my money returned on the Monday. I am still fighting with other companies to get money back from holidays cancelled in April. I would recommend anyone to book with confidence with Provence holidays and am just v sad that we could not go. House looked so beautiful.

Aufgrund staatlicher Richtlinien mussten wir unsere Reise absagen. Ich habe am Freitag eine E-Mail gesendet, in der ich darauf hingewiesen wurde, und mein Geld wurde am Montag zurückgegeben. Ich kämpfe immer noch mit anderen Unternehmen, um Geld von den im April abgesagten Feiertagen zurückzubekommen. Ich würde jedem empfehlen, mit Vertrauen in die Provence zu buchen und bin nur sehr traurig, dass wir nicht gehen konnten. Haus sah so schön aus.

Très belle maison, bien équipée et très fonctionnelle pour un séjour en famille. Terrasse ombragée et éclairée très agréable à vivre. Superbe environnement isolé et calme. Très jolie piscine et pool house mais eau un peu froide à cette saison. En conclusion: très agréable séjour Un point de désaccord avec l'agence: une demande de virement de la caution de 800 euros sur un compte en Angleterre, ce qui n'est pas une pratique habituelle pour une caution qui normalement est restituée à la fin du séjour. Problème résolu après contact avec le propriétaire qui a accepté un chèque de caution non encaissé et restitué à la fin du séjour.

Sehr schönes Haus, gut ausgestattet und sehr funktional für einen Familienaufenthalt. Schattige und beleuchtete Terrasse sehr angenehm zu leben. Hervorragende, abgeschiedene und ruhige Umgebung. Sehr schönes Schwimmbad und Poolhaus, aber das Wasser ist in dieser Saison etwas kalt. Fazit: sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt Ein Streitpunkt mit der Agentur: ein Antrag auf Überweisung der Einzahlung von 800 Euro auf ein Konto in England, was bei einer Einzahlung, die normalerweise am Ende zurückgegeben wird, nicht üblich ist bleibe. Problem gelöst nach Kontakt mit dem Eigentümer, der einen nicht eingelösten Einzahlungsscheck akzeptiert und am Ende des Aufenthalts zurückgegeben hat.

Sadly we were forced to cancel our Provence holiday this year due to Foreign Office guidelines and covid restrictions but Simon at Provence Villas kindly offered us many options including a full refund and rebooking our holiday. He personally called to take me through the options available to us. We decided to rebook the villa for summer 2021 and would highly recommend Simon and his team at Provence Villas. Excellent service + an unbeatable choice of villas in the Provence region.
