It was discovered that in the Les Alazards hamlet, the Romans had exploited the stone quarries of the Combe du Maupas to provide the raw material for the construction of the monuments of Vaison-la-Romaine. Interesting remains were discovered in the 19th century, including three large stones found in 1858, which can be seen in front of the Sainte-Marguerite chapel. The castle of Beaumont le Vieux, built towards the end of the 10th century under the dependence of the counts of Toulouse, was probably destroyed at the time of the religious wars.
